Emmitt Morinville, 81, died Thursday, November 3, 2005 at his home in Brooks, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 pm, Monday, November 7, 2005 at St. Josephs Church, Brooks, MN with Father Tim Bushy presiding. Burial will be at St. Josephs Cemetery, Brooks.

Visitation will be 2 - 4 PM, Sunday, November 6, 2005 at St. Josephs Church, Brooks, with a 4 PM rosary and for one hour prior to services, Monday.

Emmitt Mark Morinville was born May 23, 1924 in Terrebonne Township, MN, the son of William and Eva (Miller) Morinville. He was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith. He grew up and attended rural school at Brooks.

On September 24, 1945, Emmitt was united in marriage to Theresa Desautel in Brooks, MN. The couple purchased a farm in Poplar River Township, where they spent their entire lives. They enjoyed farming and raising livestock along with their eleven children. In addition to the farm, Emmitt worked at the Pete Laliberte Garage, Farmers Union Oil, Brooks Cheese Factory and Northern Paving. He served as a substitute rural postal carrier from 1945 until becoming regular carrier in 1984 and retired from the postal service in 1988.

Emmitt enjoyed the challenge of fixing anything that was broken. The joy of his life, were his grandchildren. Emmitt was often found giving rides to his grandchildren on his cub tractor and his 4-wheeler. He was lovingly known as the Candyman by his grandchildren for all the trips to town to get treats.

Emmitt is survived by wife, Theresa, Brooks, MN, 11 children; Gary (Maureen) Morinville, Valley Springs, SD and their children Brenda and Todd, Sharon Ristvedt, Fargo, ND and her children Blaine, Blake and Brent, Wanda (Gary) Rebischke, Buffalo, MN and their children Chad, Cari, Derek and Sara, Alden Morinville, Saudia Arabia and his children Mark and Stacy, Phyllis (Bob) Melby, Oklee, MN and their children Paul and Rachel, Colleen (David) Christianson, Riverton, WY and their children Christina, Jessica, Joshua and Terri, Sylvia (John) Rogalla, Moorhead, MN and their children Adam and Kaitlyn, Steven (Tammy) Morinville, Brooks, MN and their children Craig, Nick and Tanya, Gail (Pat) Pueringer, Richfield, MN and their children Theresa and Laura, Scott (Judy) Morinville, Brooks, MN and their children Steven, Thomas and Mackala and Keith (Wendy) Morinville, Boise, ID and their children Seth and Cassanda; sisters, Rita McDonald and Arabelle Sullentrop; brothers, Lawrence Morinville, and William Morinville, Jr.

Emmitt was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Ryan Melby and Jay Rogalla; parents; grandparents, sisters, Verla Asselin and Donna Walker.
