Ernest Beito, 81 of Motley, MN passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Lakewood Health Care Center in Staples, MN surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Thief Lake, rural Middle River, MN with the funeral at 11:00 AM with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Military honors will be provided by Hans Lian American Legion Post 444 and United States Navy Honor Guard. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A lunch and reception will follow.

Ernest Howard Beito was born December 27, 1937 in Greenbush, MN son of Lennie and Violet (Keller) Beito. He grew up in the area east of Strathcona, MN. Ernest attended and graduated from Middle River High School in 1955.

On July 28, 1955 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served on the USS Macon. On December 3, 1958, Ernest was Honorably Discharged.

On February 7, 1959 at a dance in Greenbush, MN, Ernest met his future wife, Doris Johnson. The couple married on December 5, 1959 at the Thief Lake Church. They made their home in Hallock, MN and to this union two sons were born, Howard and Kevin.

Ernest started working for Tenneco Gas Transmission Company in 1960 and worked at the company for 33 years, retiring in 1993.

The couple relocated to Motley, MN and spent their retirement years traveling, visiting family, fishing, hunting and enjoying his grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife, Doris; sons, Howard (Michelle) Beito and Kevin (Lisa) Beito; grandchildren, ToniRae, Kara, Chelsey, Nicole and Luke; great-grandchildren, Paxson and Axel; siblings, Caroline Majer, Harold (Sandy) Beito, Kean (Lori) Beito and Eugene Beito; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Donald and Lewis.
