Ernest Thune, 83, died Friday, January 28, 2005 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN.
Ernest Gordon Thune was born March 3, 1921 on the family farm in Thief River Falls, the son of Emil and Gertrude (Kvall) Thune. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauli Church. He grew up and attended country schools and Lincoln High School. He served his country in the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Montpelier.
On July 20, 1963, Ernest was united in marriage to Alice M. Helle at Thief River Falls, MN. Ernest was owner/operator of the Hearing Aid Center, Thief River Falls.
He was a member of United Methodist Church, Thief River Falls, life member of Thief River Falls VFW, Eagles and American Legion. He enjoyed farming, horses, chinchillas, deer and loved all animals. He loved to travel, being outdoors and loved meeting and being with people.
Survived by wife, Alice, Thief River Falls, MN; children, Virginia (Dan) Stensrud and Garry Ferman all Thief River Falls, MN and Jeffrey Thune, Prior Lake, MN; a grandchild, Stephanie (Robert) Finstad, Thief River Falls, MN; great grandchildren, Dylan and Jerzie Finstad, Thief River Falls, MN; sister, Arlene Thune, Thief River Falls, MN and brothers, Glen (Beverly), Twin Valley, MN, Donald (LaVonne), St. Hilaire and Norris (Arlene) Thune, Thief River Falls, MN; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents and brother, Palmer Thune.
