Esther Anderson, 81, died Sunday, August 10, 2008 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Ale Tulu officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 5-8 on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Thursday.

Esther Jeannette Anderson was born on February 23, 1927, to Theodore and Cora (Stigen) Dahle in Thief River Falls, MN. She was baptized on June 21, 1927 and confirmed on June 13, 1943 at Zion Lutheran Church. She attended the Trail County School in Hillsboro, North Dakota.

Esther was united in marriage to Harvey Overbye on November 19, 1945 in Thief River Falls, who was the father of Alvin, Palmer, George, and Art. To this union 4 children were born, Delores, Harold, Arlen, and Karen. Esther was later married to Donald E. Anderson on February 15, 1964 in Thief River Falls. To this union two children were born Mark and Jody. Esther worked various housekeeping jobs including the Pennington Hotel and Model Laundry.

In Esthers life, family was the first and foremost. She also enjoyed embroidery, riding 4- wheeler, word find puzzles, and flying with Travis in his airplane. She loved her kitty Oopsie. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, and Zion Lutheran Church and circle in Thief River Falls.

Esther is survived by 4 children: Harold (Arlene) Overbye, Lakeville, MN, Karen (Dave) Johnson, Dayton, MN, Mark (Sherri Owens) Anderson, Thief River Falls, MN, Jody Harger, Thief River Falls, MN, 1 son in law Lyndon Minske, Hallock, MN, 1 daughter in law Barbara Overbye, Lakeville, MN, 14 grandchildren: Troy (Paula) Minske, Daryn (Annie) Minske, Sarah (Phil) Hougard, Nicole (Derrik) Wojciechowski, Travis Overbye, Ryan Overbye, Kari (Clint) Juffer, Heather (Terry Helm) Overbye, Jenny Overbye, Shane McNatton, Melissa (Jake) Reining, Trent Johnson, Kendra Johnson, Sue Overbye, 13 great grandchildren: Ashley, Ella, and Kynan Minske, Carter and Bernice Minske, Emma Overbye, Sydney and Mason Reining, Quinten Moulds, Blaine Kriel, Haley Dickson, Bridger Helm and Sevanah McNatton; 1 brother, Clifford (Norma) Dahle, Holt, MN, and several other extended family members and friends.

Esther was preceded in death by her first husband Harvey Overbye, parents Cora and Theodore Dahle, 1 daughter Delores Minske, 1 son Arlen Overbye, grandson, Scott Overbye; 3 brothers Thorman, Rueben, and Marvin Dahle, grandparents, and infant sister Anne.
