Esther L. (Hagberg) Wegge, age 97, died Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Martin Luther Care Center in Bloomington, Minnesota, where she had resided since August of 2011. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, with Rev. John Voelker, Ph.D., officiating. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the funeral service. Esther was born to John and Georgina Hagberg in Dugdale, Minnesota, May 3, 1915. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. She grew up in Holt, Minnesota where she attended grade school. She graduated from high school in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. On July 21, 1934 Esther was united in marriage to Dennis Wegge in McIntosh, Minnesota. They resided in Holt for three years before they moved to Thief River Falls. Esther was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, Wednesday school and was a member of the Sarah Circle. Esther worked at Mostue's Flower Shop and Larsen's Style Center. She enjoyed many wonderful years of music, dancing, handwork. homemaking and entertaining family and friends in her home. Esther is survived by three children, Beverly Wegge, Minneapolis; Jim (Rose) Wegge, Phoenix Arizona; and David (Susan) Wegge, De Pere, Wisconsin; five grand children, Scott Wegge, Yuma, Arizona; Kim (John) Durso, Scottsdale, Arizona; Jacqueline (Jeff) Tumilson, Payson, Arizona; Kristine (Dan) Liedtke, Green Bay, Wisconsin and Jonathan (Jackie) Wegge, Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Esther in death were her husband, Dennis, her parents and four siblings and their spouses; Mabel (Jesse) Sorum, Gladys (Walmer) Risberg, Verna (Arnold) Hagen and Roy (Inez) Hagberg.
