Ethel Hyatt, 93, died Sunday, December 11, 2005, at Oakland Park Nursing Home, Thief River Falls, MN.
Ethel Harriet Johnson was born August 22, 1912 at Spencer, MN, the daughter of Hjalmer and Emma (Stokke) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and graduated from Holt High School, Holt, MN in 1930. During World War II, Ethel worked for the Yakima Tent and Awning, Yakima, WA, except during apple picking season, when she packed apples. She moved to Duluth, MN and worked at Minnesota Woolen, as a seamstress for 22 years, then moved to Thief River Falls, MN, where she has since resided.
On May 15, 1985, Ethel was united in marriage to Gene Hyatt, Yakima, WA.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN. She enjoyed sewing, reading and crossword puzzles.
Ethel is survived by son, Joel (Jenny) Vattendahl, South Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Craig Vattendahl, Bryan (Jennifer) Vattendahl and Cynthia (Tom) Kieck all South Milwaukee, WI; 6 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Duane Green, Holt and sister-in-law, Viola Johnson, Holt; several nieces and nephew.
Preceded in death by husband, parents, sisters, Eunice Hagen, Eloise Gilbert and Yvonne Green and brother, Francis Johnson.
