Ethel Josephson, 95, died Saturday May 12, 2012 at Touchmark of Harwood Groves, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be 10:30, Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. John Voelker PhD officiating. Burial will in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be 5-8, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Wednesday. Ethel Christine Rambeck was born on September 3, 1916 to Robert and Allie (Johnson) Rambeck on a farm near Germantown, MN. Ethel was baptized at Germantown Church and confirmed. Ethel grew up in Goodridge, MN and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1935. She was united in marriage to Charles Bernard Josephson on March 23, 1941. They made their home in Goodridge, MN. During the war, Ethel worked in different war efforts including A.O. Smith, Northwest Airlines, and McDonnell Douglas. Following the war, they started a family and two sons Mark and Neil were born. They moved to Middle River in 1950. In 1960, they lived in Crookston for a couple of years, before moving to Thief River Falls in 1962. Ethel worked in the city clerk's office in Crookston for two years, and then when they moved to Thief River Falls she worked at the city clerk's office in Thief River Falls until retiring in 1981. For many years, she and her husband Charles traveled extensively in the United States, made three trips to visit relatives in Norway, and took two trips to France to visit the battle sites. Ethel loved the outdoors and working with flowers and her garden. She enjoyed ladies aid and hosting coffee. She liked to cook. They were involved at Trinity Lutheran Church and active with meals on wheels. Ethel is survived by two sons: Mark (Judy) Josephson, Thief River Falls, MN, Neil (Barbara) Josephson, Barnesville, MN, four grandchildren: Julie (Eugene) Cole, Bagley, MN, Ryan (Maple) Josephson, Madison, WI, Johnny (Lisa) Josephson, Lonsdale, MN, Robert (Rachael) Josephson, Ramsey, MN, seven great grandchildren: Natalie and Hailey Berg, Jonathan Cole, Madison, Noah Josephson, Noelle and Emily Josephson, two sisters in law, Doris Walimaa, Stillwater, MN, Diana "Granny" Josephson, Thief River Falls, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2010, parents, three siblings Orin Rambeck, Ruth Rambeck, Russell Rambeck, three brothers in law Darel, Dan, and Lynn Josephson.
