Ethel Riendeau, 89, died on Friday, July 11, 2008 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN with Father Chuck Huck presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Brooks, MN.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, July 14, 2008 at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service on Monday evening and also at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Ethel Edna Davis was born December 19, 1918 in Red Lake County, MN, the daughter of Eugene and Eleanor (Skibicki) Davis. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Brooks, MN and attended school at District 14, Red Lake County, MN.
Ethel was united in marriage to Albany Arthur Riendeau, November 24, 1936 in Brooks, MN. The couple farmed near Brooks until they moved to the Iron Range where they lived for 9 years. They moved to Milwaukee, WI and lived for 13 years and then to Southern, CA where they lived for 26 years. Following Bens retirement they spent winters in Arizona and summers on Maple Lake at Mentor, MN. Ben died July 8, 1996 and Ethel continued to spend winters in Arizona and summers in Crookston, MN.
Ethel is survived by four children: Lee Riendeau, Apache Junction, AZ, Brenda Jo Riendeau (Markham), California, Missouri, Gaylen Riendeau, Apache Junction, AZ and Al Riendeau, Apache Junction, AZ; four grandchildren: Sharri (Markham) Ames, Lucerne Valley, CA, Debbie (Markham) Gaudutis, Lees Summit, MO, Heather Riendeau, Phoenix, AZ and Travis Riendeau, Mesa, AZ; great grandchildren: Raymond, Lilianna, Giovanni Riendeau, Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Sara (Davis) Johnston; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Albany; two sons: Rolland and Arland; parents; five brothers: George, Russell, Richard, Lloyd and Ralph; and two sisters: Alice (Davis) Carriveau and Bertha Davis.
