Eugene Moser, 73, of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Bill DeCrans officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Brooks, MN.
Visitation will be held Monday 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at St. Joseph Catholic Church and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday
Eugene Wilhelm Moser was born June 27, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN son of the late Fred Wilhelm and Iva Christine "Connie" (Royer) Moser. The family moved to Brooks, MN in 1955. He attended School in Plummer, MN. Eugene met Shirley Hassel in McIntosh, MN. They were married on June 26, 1965 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN. The couple made their home in Red Lake Falls, MN where Gene started working at Detroiter in 1963. He began working for Wilcox Plumbing and Heating in 1965 where he worked for 33 years. In 2007 Gene became self-employed, he operated "Gene's Service and Repair" until retiring in 2014.
Gene enjoyed snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, fishing with his grandkids, camping, playing tractors and farm with great-grandsons, and time spent in his "smart shop". He loved visiting and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Red Lake Falls JC's and St. Joseph Catholic Church and an usher. The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 26, 2015 with family at their favorite place, Lake of the Woods Warroad, MN.
Gene is survived by his wife of 50 years Shirley at Red Lake Falls, MN; Sandy Derosier (Dean Cardinal) of Red Lake Falls, MN and Scott (Janet) Moser of Brooklyn Park, MN; grandchildren Aaron (Ashley) Derosier, Eric Derosier (special friend Candra), Alex Derosier, Mariah Derosier and Madison Derosier, Zachary Moser, Joshua Moser and Nicholas Moser; great-grandchildren Lincoln and Emmett Derosier. Brother Fred T. Moser of Minneapolis, MN; Sisters Roseanne Budahl (Don Flyckt) of Walker, MN and Marilyn Moser of Milwaukee, WI, along with several nieces and nephews. In-law's Walter (Karen) Hassel, Wanda (Jim) Westman, Mary Jo (Wayne) Knutson, Clarence Strom Jr.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, sister Evon Marie Moser, in-laws Jennie (Clarence) Strom, Paul Hassel; sisters-in-law Ann Marie Fox and Kathy Moser.
