Eugene R. Schindler, 73, died Sunday, October 5, 2003 at his residence near Red Lake Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 4:00 PM, Thursday, October 9, 2003 at St. Josephs Church, Red Lake Falls, MN, with Father Gerald Noesen officiating. Burial will be at St. Josephs Cemetery, Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 5- 8 PM, Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at the church with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Eugene R. Schindler was born May 7, 1930 at Lake Pleasant Township, Red Lake Falls, MN, the son of John L. and Mary (Schmitz) Schindler. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Josephs Church and attended country school and St. Josephs grade school. He received his diploma while serving in the military.

He entered the United States Army as a Private in November 1952 and served as a military police officer with the 553rd M.P. Company until he was honorably discharged in November 1954 as a Corporal. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After his discharge, he returned to Red Lake Falls and continued farming with his father until his marriage.

On July 7, 1955, Eugene was united in marriage to Patricia B. Amiot in Red Lake Falls, MN. He farmed his own land in Lake Pleasant Township and did carpentry work until the time of his death.

Eugene enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
