EUNICE R. BOURQUE, 96, of Erskine, MN formerly of Oklee, MN peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Pioneer Care Center in Erskine, MN with her son by her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN at 10:30 a.m. with Father Chuck Huck Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. A Wake will be held Monday, October 21, 2013 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church in Oklee, MN. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Eunice was born June 18, 1917 the daughter of the late Joseph and Dianna (Reopelle) Boucher of Oklee, MN. Eunice grew up on the family farm east of Oklee with six brothers. Eunice was baptized in Brooks because the Oklee church was being moved from Lambert in 1917, and later confirmed at St. Francis Xavier in Oklee. She was united in marriage on November 21, 1939 to William Joseph Bourque in Oklee. The couple purchased a farm 2 miles west of Oklee and farmed until 1994. Eunice and Bill moved to town in 1979. Her children remember her as a wonderful cook, she would send rolls and buns with all visitors. She really enjoyed mowing on the lawn tractor - just going for the ride; even doing yard work into her 80's. She was a seamstress for her children, and was a member of the "Sew & Save" homemakers club. Eunice is known for her quilting, and she liked gathering with friends on Sundays to play cards. Eunice is survived by two daughters, Marie (Richard) Van Vooren of Long Beach, CA, Louise (Earl) Leiran of Tucson, AZ; three sons, Richard (Barb) Bourque of Monticello, MN, Michael Bourque of Moorhead, MN, and David Bourque on the family farm in rural Brooks, MN; three grandsons; 10 granddaughters; many great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leonard, Clarence, and Paul (Lou); two sister-in-laws, Isabel and Delores; and many nieces and nephews. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Lucy and Judith; three brothers, Josepha, Delpha, and Morris; and two sister-in-laws, Betty & Veronica.
