Obituary

Eunice Lofstrom, 80, died on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30AM Thursday July 2, 2009 at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Strandquist MN, with Reverend Curtis Matz and Reverend Phil Rokke officiating. Burial will be at Mamrelund Cemetery, Strandquist, MN.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Eunice Loraine Johnson was born June 8, 1929, on a farm in Marshall County, MN, the daughter of John A. and Ragna (Erickson) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Strandquist, MN. She attended Sunnyside School.

On December, 16, 1950, Eunice was united in marriage to Selmer Louie Lofstrom at the Mission Parsonage, Strandquist. The couple farmed and lived on the farm. In 1964, they moved into Strandquist. While they continued to live in Strandquist, Eunice worked at Oakland Park Nursing Home, Thief River Falls, MN. She ran the Caf in Strandquist in the mid 60s to the mid 70s. She later worked at Bathesda Nursing Home, Crookston, MN.

Eunice was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Strandquist, a member of the Strandquist City Council and was Treasurer of the food shelf there. She was an animal lover taking care of many different animals. In her later years she enjoyed listening to the Twins and the Northern Freeze.

Eunice is survived by a daughter, Dorothy (Special friend Mark Hultgren) Grandstrand, Strandquist, MN; sons, John Louis Lofstrom, Strandquist, MN and Lenny (DeAnn) Lofstrom, rural Strandquist, MN; 7 grandchildren Nancy (John) Feldman, Earl Grandstrand, Dean (Patti) Grandstrand, Devin Lofstrom, Dustin Lofstrom, Damian Lofstrom, Daltyn Lofstrom ; 6 great grandchildren Holly Feldman, Connor VanEmmerik, Chelsie Grandstrand, Kegan Grandstrand, Dalton Grandstrand, Jacob Grandstrand. Son-in-law Leonard (Jean) Kasprowicz and family of Devils Lake, ND; brother-in-law Edmund Kostrzewski; sisters-in-law Agnes Johnson, Effie Johnson, Lovie Johnson, Blanch Lofstrom and Adele Daffron, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by husband, Louie, daughter, Barbara Kasprowicz in 1967, sisters, Gladys Rud, Maxine Kostrzewski and Mabel Olson, brothers, Rudolf, Helmer, Lloyd, Melvin, Roland and Wilfred, son-in-law Roy Grandstrand.
