Eva Weiland, 68, died on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at Riverview Hospital in Crookston, MN.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, August 6, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend David Widerski officiating. Burial will be in Park Ridge Cemetery, Norden Township, Pennington County, MN.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 5, 2004 at the Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service on Thursday evening and at the church for one hour prior to services on Friday.
Eva Mae Armstrong was born on October 30, 1935 in Crookston, MN, the daughter of Frank M. and Alma F. (Magsam) Armstrong. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Eva attended school in rural Euclid, MN. The family moved to Thief River Falls, MN, where she attended Lincoln High School, graduating in 1953. On November 07, 1953 she married Dake W. Ayers, Jr. Together they raised six children and farmed in the Thief River Falls area. Dake passed away on August 29, 1981.
Eva married Clarence Anderson on June 29, 1985. The couple resided in rural St. Hilaire, MN. Clarence passed away on April 15, 1991. Eva worked for the Thief River Falls Public Library and continued living in rural St. Hilaire.
On March 23, 2000 Eva married Ralph Weiland. She lived with Ralph in rural Euclid, MN, until the time of her death.
Eva attended the Presbyterian Church in Euclid, MN, Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls and most recently, the First Baptist Church in Thief River Falls. She was a faithful church attender her entire life. She was also a member of the Good Cheer Club. Eva was a loving mother and loved to spend time with her family. She played the harmonica and accordion and yodeled in her younger years.
Eva is survived by her husband, Ralph of Euclid, MN; three sons: Richard Ayers of Bottineau, ND, Randall Ayers of Thief River Falls, MN and Robert Ayers of Thief River Falls, MN; three daughters: Diane Ayers of Euclid, MN, Denise (David) Yonke of St. Cloud, MN and Darla Ayers of Fargo, ND; four grandchildren: Crystal, Meagan, Zachary Ayers and Desirae Yonke; one great grand child, Amora Belle LeBlanc; two sisters: Doris Vevea of Thief River Falls, MN and Janice (Duane) Olson of Thief River Falls, MN; two brothers: Don (Vera) Armstrong of Grand Haven, MI and Ron (Jan) Armstrong of Rockville, MD; four step-sons: Ralph (Jack) Weiland, Jr. of Maplewood, MN, Phillip (Linda) Weiland of Dorothy, MN, Ronald (Vicki) Weiland of Stephen, MN and Michael Weiland of Colton, SD; two step-daughters: Diane (Bruce) Beresheit of St. Cloud, MN and Debra (Russell) Jobe of Ashby, MN; one aunt, Emma Armstrong of Fargo, ND; 22 step grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dake W. Ayers; her second husband, Clarence H. Anderson; her parents; and two infant brothers.
