Evangeline Grove, 68, of Brooks, MN died on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN with Father Chuck Huck Officiating. Burial will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Brooks. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Evangeline Beatrice Grove was born September 5, 1945 at Brooks, MN daughter of the late Theodore and Lillian (Riel) Hince. She was raised in Brooks, attended school there and graduated from Plummer High School in 1963. On April 11, 1964 she was united in marriage to Sherlen Grove at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks. To this union six children were born. With the exception of a few months she lived her entire life in Brooks. She worked many years at the Cozy Bar in Brooks and picked eggs for several years for the Bruggeman's. Many people have quilts hand stitched by Evangeline and her mother. Evangeline enjoyed camping and snowmobiling, quilting, bingo, baking (the ice cream buckets of donuts), gardening (including Mowing) and canning. Most of all she enjoyed the visiting with family and friends and perhaps playing cards or board games while doing that, don't forget the popcorn. Evangeline is survived by her husband of 49 years Sherlen of Brooks, MN; children Vicki (Danny Benoit) Grove of Thief River Falls, MN; Scott (Becky Boehrnsen) Grove of McIntosh, MN; Renee (Ralph) Kimbro of Oklee, MN; Ricky (Rachel Carlson) Grove of McIntosh, MN; Darrin (Penny) Grove of Oklee, MN; Tammy (Jody Benedick) Gustafson of Fargo, ND: 12 grandchildren Michael, Corey, Ryan (Samantha), Zachary, Brady, Brent (Samantha), Dusty, April, Justin, Courtney, Brooke, Dylan: 6 great-grandchildren Gavin, Lillian, Austin, Meckenzie, Addyson, Isaac. Two brothers Willard Hince of Thief River Falls, MN and Russell (Cheryl) Hince of Brooks, MN along with several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Duane Hince, sister Dolores Burthwick.
