Evelyn Johnston, 83, died Monday, February 20, 2006 at Providence Place, Minneapolis, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, February 24, 2006 at the Presbyterian Church, Red Lake Falls, MN with Rev. Tom Potter officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service, Red Lake Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the services at the church.

Evelyn Stenstad was born August 23, 1922 at Bagley, MN, the daughter of Oscar and Borghild (Oversea) Stenstad. She attended Bagley High School. Evelyn was employed as secretary for Lafayette High School, Red Lake Falls, MN.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Harold Spears in 1940. She married Howard Johnston in 1974.

She was a member of the Red Lake Falls American Legion Auxiliary. Evelyn was an avid bowler and golfer.

Evelyn is survived by sons, Kent Spears, Baudette, MN and Michael Spears, Minneapolis, MN; step daughters, Cookie Hagen, Rice Lake, WI and Sandra Walhof, North Oaks, MN; grandchildren, Karl Spears, Warroad, MN and Jenny Spears, Baudette, MN; sisters, Eunice Josephson, Bagley, MN and Marlys Anderson, Missoula, MT and brother, Jennings Stenstad, St. Paul, MN.
