Evelyn Lambert, 92, died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Eventide in Moorhead, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow at St. Bernards Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM on Thursday at the church.

Evelyn S. Voxland was born November 5, 1918 on the family farm in Lesser Township, Polk County rural McIntosh, MN, the daughter of Halvor and Caroline (Klemmetson) Voxland. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural McIntosh, MN. Evelyn attended school in McIntosh and graduated from McIntosh High School. Following high school, Evelyn worked various jobs in the surrounding area and helped out at home following the death of her mother.

On July 8, 1942, Evelyn was united in marriage to Walter J. Lambert at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Oklee, MN. It was at this time Evelyn was received into full communion with the Catholic Church. They made their home on the Lambert family farm in Lambert Township near Oklee, MN and to this union six children were born, James, Carolyn, Patricia, Irene, Richard and Kay.

They lived in various locations until settling in rural Thief River Falls in 1960 where Walter and Evelyn operated a small grain and dairy farm while raising their six children. After her children were grown, Evelyn went to work at Arctic Cat for a number of years and then worked for her son at Jims Steamagic until she retired. Following Walters death she moved to Moorhead in 2004.

She was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church where she enjoyed volunteering in various activities and was a member of the St. Jude and Johanna Circle. Evelyn was also active in her neighborhood homemakers group. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, quilt making, sewing and especially crocheting which she enjoyed to her final days.

Survivors include six children, Jim (Carol) Lambert, Thief River Falls, MN, Carolyn Bidleman, Seattle, WA, Pat Ueland, Bemidji, MN, Irene (Harley) Danielson, Fargo, ND, Father Rick Lambert, Thief River Falls, MN and Kay Lambert, Moorhead, MN; 10 grandchildren, Dawn (Chris) Connor, Jason (Megan) Lambert, Natalie (Pat) Price, Jeff (Julie) Ueland, Greg Ueland, Nick (fianc, Kate Sowell) Ueland, Nichelle (fianc, William Manchester) Danielson, Ryan Danielson, Steve Danielson, and Matt Lambert; 6 great grandchildren, Zachary, Amelia and Isabelle Lambert, Ayden Connor, Marley and Simone Ueland; sisters, Luella Wigness, Allison Park, PA, and Jordis (Robert) Dotson, Dalton Gardens, ID; a brother, Jerome (Bernice) Voxland, McIntosh, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelyn is preceded in death by husband, Walter on August 14, 2003; parents; sisters, Ardelle Ostgarden and Hazel Nelson; and brother, Harlan Voxland.
