Evelyn Luoto of Thief River Falls, MN, age 92, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Finnish Lutheran Cemetery, Middle River, MN. Evelyn's family will host a luncheon following the graveside service at the Spruce Valley Community Center in Middle River, MN. Evelyn was born on March 6, 1921, in Thief River Falls, MN, to the late Carl and Agnes (Linstad) Elkins. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. On March 21, 1942 she was married to John C, Luoto of Middle River, MN. To this union, three children were born. She was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Luoto of Bellingham, WA; two sons, John C. Luoto Jr. of Thief River Falls, MN and David (Ruth) Luoto of Lowell, NC; one brother, Carl Roseland of New Hope, MN; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Bob) Clark of Corning, CA and Elaine Luoto of Roseau, MN; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John on March 20, 2011 and brother, Morlan Elkins.
