Evelyn C. Myrum, 73, passed away peacefully, May 14, 2007 at Grand Forks, ND from a brain tumor.


Funeral service will be 11 AM at Oak Park Lutheran Church rural Oklee, MN with Reverend Joseph Abrahamson officiating. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery, Deer Park Township, Pennington County, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church, Thursday.

Evelyn Caroline Qualey was born June 27, 1933 to Oscar and Inga (Tinnesand) Qualey in Johnson Township, Polk County, MN. She graduated from Oklee High School. She graduated from Bemidji State College in 1965.

She married Bernell Ingvald Myrum, June 12, 1950. She and Bernell were farmers in Pennington County until they moved to the Iron Range in 1968. She was a librarian and English teacher in Plummer and Nashwauk-Keewatin school district until she retired.

Evelyn enjoyed quilting, sewing, and scrap booking. She loved living in the country near Bagley. She was an avid reader and was interested in genealogy.

Evelyn is survived by special friend Norman Hanson, Fertile, MN; 3 daughters: Renae (Tom) Grabanski, Hibbing, MN; Peggy Stevens, Fridley, MN; and Stacey (Doug) Alsdurf, Mahtomedi, MN; 1 son: Richard (Karen) Myrum, Pengilly, MN; 9 grandchildren: Stephanie (Scott) Campbell, Bruce Turnbull, Thomas Grabanski Jr., Jon Grabanski, Joseph Grabanski, Stacy (Chris) Roberts, Nathan Hansen, Tristan Tieso, Robert Tieso, 3 great grandchildren; 8 sisters, Betty Ost, Biwabik, MN; Gernadine (Bill) Staye, Howard Lake, MN; Helen (Loren) Klopp, Thief River Falls, MN; Sandra (Gary) Buerman, Winona, MN; JoAnn (Burl) Houts, New Hope, MN; Patricia (Arnie) Westling, Solway, MN; Carol (Darwin) Eidelbes, Goodridge, MN; Elaine (Parker) Anderson, Clearbrook, MN; 1 brother David Qualey, Goodridge, MN. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Bernell, daughter Sonja Courville, parents, brother Howard Qualey, sister Opal Eck.
