Evelyn "Peggy" Nicholson, 92, died Friday, June 29, 2007 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 5, 2007 at United Methodist Church with Reverend Frank Ehling officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church, Thursday.

Evelyn Doris Hegland was born May 13, 1915 at Crookston, MN, the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Gudvangen) Hegland. She was baptized, confirmed and married in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Central High School, Crookston, MN in 1933 and worked for the Bridgeman Creameries Company.

On September 13, 1938, Peggy was united in marriage to Lawrence Francis Nicholson of Thief River Falls, MN. The couple lived in Thief River Falls. Lawrence died July 27, 1983. Peggy was employed at Noper's Motel for 20 years.

Peggy was a member of United Methodist Church and Wesley circle. She liked to sew, crochet and especially ballroom dance. Peggy & Lawrence enjoyed dancing every Saturday night with their friends.

She is survived by 3 children: Lynn (Marie) Nicholson, San Dimas, CA, Don (Carrie) Nicholson, Thief River Falls, MN and Judy (Mark) DuChamp, Thief River Falls, MN; 6 grandchildren: Jodi Nicholson, Michael Nicholson, Tara and Jennifer Nicholson, Dean and Danielle DuChamp; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Stanley Hegland, Edmonds, WA; sister, Gladys Sundseth, Mesa, AZ.

Evelyn is preceded in death by husband, Lawrence; parents; brothers, Eugene and Kenny Hegland.
