Evelyn Marie Schear was born October 24, 1928 in Browns Creek Township, Red Lake County, MN, the daughter of Adam and Myrtle (Schultz) Schear. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She grew up and attended rural school near Red Lake Falls.

On June 5, 1951, Evelyn was united in marriage to Arthur C. Olson at Red Lake Falls, MN. The couple lived in Crookston, MN, where she worked at the Catholic Hospital as a nurses aid. They lived for one year at International Falls, MN and then returned to Mentor where they purchased a farm and have since resided.

Evelyn was a member of First Evanger Lutheran Church and held membership in McIntosh VFW Auxiliary Post #6891. She enjoyed farming, gardening and canning, but most of all she loved family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survived by husband, Arthur, Mentor, MN; children, Sharon (Larry) Hanson, Erskine, MN and Janis (Reggie) Galland, Mentor, MN; grandchildren, Tim Rhode, Thief River Falls, MN, Jill Galland, Mentor, MN, Amy (Arick) Broden, East Grand Forks, MN and Katie Galland, Mentor, MN; great grandchild, Hailey Eve Broden, East Grand Forks, MN; brothers, Chester (Ann) Schear, Mentor, MN, Marvin Bud (Darlene) Schear, Mentor, MN; sister-in-law, Betty Schear, Erskine, MN; brother-in-law, Dale Bump Erickson, Fertile, MN and many nieces and nephews.
