Evelyn Mary Lacroix was born October 12, 1915 in Whitewood Sask., Canada, the daughter of Athanase and Sarah (McPhee) Lacroix. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith and attended school in Saskatchewan and High School in Winnipeg, Canada.
Evelyn was united in marriage to William Schultz, May 19, 1951 in Winnipeg, Canada. The couple moved to Red Lake Falls in the mid 1950s and owned and operated the theater in Red Lake Falls for several years. Evelyn also worked for many years for Red Lake County Social Services.
She was a lifetime member of Oak Knolls Golf Club, Red Lake Falls. Evelyn loved and cared for all animals, especially those homeless and abandoned.
Evelyn is survived by four sisters: Flora Kobrinsky, California, Agnes Mingle, Sault St. Marie, Canada, Jean Weeks, Toronto, Canada and Madeline Wilbur, Toronto, Canada; step-son, Bill Schultz and family, Alonsa, Manitoba; niece and nephew, Barry and Ruth Schultz, Red Lake Falls, MN and their family. She was dearly loved and a special aunt to numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and United States.
Preceded in death by husband, William, July 26, 1980; parents; one brother, Ollie Lacroix; and two sisters: Margaret Sheedy and Isabelle Heatherington.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Hillcrest Nursing Home for their wonderful care and kindness shown to Evelyn while she lived there.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be given to a Red Lake Falls charity of their choice.
