Florence "Yvonne" Bredeson of Thief River Falls, MN, age 94, died Tuesday March 24, 2015 at her home in Thief River Falls, MN with her loving family at her side. Funeral service to celebrate the life of Yvonne will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 30, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Rob Kopp officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Florence Yvonne Anderson was born May 2, 1920 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Glen C. and Florence Ella (Poland) Anderson. She went to school in Minneapolis, MN and when in the eighth grade returned with her family to live in Thief River Falls. Yvonne graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls with the class of 1938. Yvonne was employed as a secretary for Les Ihle and also for Paul Lundgren. On July 28, 1941, Yvonne was united in marriage to Robert Alfred Bredeson in Thief River Falls and then moved to Camp Barkley, TX for his Army Infantry training. Following Bob's service in World War II, the couple returned to make their home in Thief River Falls. To this union two sons were born, Robert and Rolf. In 1946 Yvonne and Bob started the Bredeson Cleaners and together they operated this business until 1984. Yvonne was happiest when she could be outside with flowers, gardening, watching the animals, and golfing. She also enjoyed playing bridge, crossword puzzles, cooking, baking, knitting, sewing, and had a keen interest in politics and current events. She worked faithfully for the Republican Party and also volunteered for various organizations in the community. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Thief River Falls where she sang in the choir, was an organizer of the yearly Easter Garden and was the church historian. Survivors include a son Rolf Bredeson of Thief River Falls, MN; grandsons, Andy Bredeson of Florida and Allen Langlie of Thief River Falls, MN; daughter-in-law Diane Bredeson of Thief River Falls; sister-in-law, Caroline Anderson of Twin Cities; and many nieces and nephews. Yvonne is preceded in death by husband, Robert on March 10, 2004; son, Robert G. Bredeson on July 21, 2012; an infant daughter, Kathleen Adair Bredeson; and siblings, Janet Marie Anderson, Glen C. Anderson, Thornton Anderson and Virginia Gulbranson Davidson.
