Obituary

Florence Wiener, 86, died on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at her daughters residence in Thief River Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Tim McGee presiding. Burial will be in St. Bernards Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Florence M. Fontaine was born on January 24, 1920 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, the daughter of James Elmer and Josephine Fontaine. She was baptized in Meath Park, Saskatchewan. Florence was three years old when the family moved to Thief River Falls. She attended school at St. Bernards Catholic School and Central School in Thief River Falls.

Florence was united in marriage to Joseph Wiener on July 30, 1940 in Thief River Falls. The couple made their home and farmed in Smiley Township, Pennington County, MN. Florences life was her family. She was a caregiver for her four children, her father and father-in-law. Florence was always there when someone needed help. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, picking berries, canning, and having coffee and visiting with her relatives and friends.

She was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, and when she couldnt be at church Florence was very faithful to watch it on TV.

Florence is survived by four children: Carolyn (Morris) Halvorson of Thief River Falls, MN, Joel (Mary) Wiener of Champlin, MN, Mary (Steve) Beich of Thief River Falls, MN and Michelle (Mark) Paulson of Thief River Falls, MN; 12 grandchildren: Karen Wengeler, Nikki Peters, Eric Halvorson, Anne Halvorson, Bradley Wiener, Kristi Moreles, Daniel Wiener, Natalie LaCoursiere, Cameron Ulferts, Becky Ulferts, Carolyn Paulson and Mark Paulson; 16 great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Anderson of Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four babies; and one sister, Josephine.
