Frances Kathleen Aandal went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, MN at the age of 93.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN, with Rev. Kristin Ostercamp officiating.  Burial will follow at the Germantown Cemetery, rural Goodridge.

Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.  Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the church.

Frances Kathleen (Hamre) Aandal was born January 22, 1929 on the farm, to Melvin and Nora Gladys (Olson) Hamre.  Frances was baptized at home and confirmed at Germantown Zion Lutheran Church.  She attended School District #76 in Marshall County through the 8 ^th grade.

On March 1, 1947, Frances was united in marriage to Raymond Aandal by Pastor Sabo.  They made their home on the Aandal Family farm and were blessed to have 62 years of marriage.

Frances was a hard-working farm wife, helping Ray with farm chores. Frances found enjoyment while gardening, cooking, quilting, knitting, and canning. For many years, she and Ray enjoyed fishing and spending time at their lake place on Upper Red Lake in Waskish, Minnesota. During the annual deer hunt many friends gathered at the Aandal farm.  Frances enjoyed entertaining and cooking for family and friends.

Frances was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Goodridge, MN, a charter member of the Goodridge Lions Club, and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary in Thief River Falls, MN.

She is survived by children: Gary (Lorine) Aandal, Buffalo, MN, Judy (Bruce) Machal, Prior Lake, MN, Donald (Diane)  Aandal, Grand Forks, ND, and Daniel (Jane) Aandal, Goodridge, MN; nine grandchildren: Tracy (Jeff) Bluth of Brainerd, MN, Travis (Julie) Aandal of St. Michael, MN, Brenda (Jim) Hagen of Prior Lake, MN, Joe (Tori) Machal of Prior Lake, MN, Katie (Mike) Casey of Grand Forks, ND, Madeline (Cory) Graff of Grand Forks, ND, Christian Aandal of Grand Forks, ND, Beth (Joe) Scheidecker of West Fargo, ND, and Tyler (Liz) Aandal of Thief River Falls, MN. 18 great-grandchildren, Karlee, Alexa, Jackson Bluth; Sydney, Cailey, and Zachary Aandal, Brianna Kern, Matthew and McKenna Hagen, Rhett and Evea Machal, Ava and Lily Scheidecker, Liam and Frannie Aandal, Samuel Casey, Etta Jo and Ira Graff; one great-great grandchild, Elijah Kern; sister Barbara Picolet, sisters-in-law; Dottie Aandal, Sharon Hamre and Darlene Sparby; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond Aandal (2010), brothers: Gerald Hamre, Laverne Hamre, Leighton Hamre, and Ronald Hamre; brothers-in-law: Arlo (Pete) Aandal, Roy Aandal, Loren Sparby, Raymond Moe, Sheldon Nomeland, and Bernard Picolet; sisters-in-law; Marge Aandal, Marilyn Hamre, Bev Hamre, and Connie Hamre; nephews: John Aandal and Kevin Hamre; niece: Mary Ann Aandal; parents and grandparents.
