Frances Anderson, 90, died Monday, May 19, 2008 at the MeritCare South University, Palliative Care Unit in Fargo, ND.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, on Friday, May 23, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Northwood Cemetery, Northwood Township, Beltrami County, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Frances Martha Skime was born January 18, 1918 on a farm near Skime, MN, the daughter of Andrew and Emma (Lokken) Skime. She grew up in the area and attended country school near Skime.

On February 24, 1936, Frances was united in marriage to Gilmer Anderson in the Wannaska, MN parsonage. The couple made their home and farmed in Big Grass Township, Beltrami County, MN and then spent a short time in the state of Washington picking apples before moving to Wyoming where Gilmer worked in the oil fields for 10 years. In 1951 they returned to farm in Veldt Township, Marshall County, MN until 1968 when they moved into Thief River Falls where Frances worked at Arctic Cat on the motor bench. In 1976 Frances and Gilmer moved to Kimball, MN and went into hog farming with their son, Darrel. In 1980 they returned to Thief River Falls, MN where they resided until 2007 when Frances moved to Manor Care in Fargo, ND.

Frances enjoyed making lefse, crocheting, quilting, spending time with her grandkids, playing cards, reading, baking and she loved to fish.

Frances is survived by husband, Gilmer, Thief River Falls, MN; 3 sons: Darrel (Myrna), Warroad, MN, Richard Red (Judy), West Fargo, ND and Jerry (Karen), Baudette, MN; 10 grandchildren, Darrin (De) Anderson, Dana Anderson, Danny (Stephanie) Anderson, Malina (Adrian) OConnor, Jennifer Anderson, Jodi (Tim) Kozan, Roger (Kim) Anderson, Michael Anderson, Jason (Sarah) Anderson and Jamie (Mary Beth) Anderson; 16 great grandchildren, Taylor Anderson, Austin Anderson, Micaela Anderson, Hunter Anderson, Nicholas Anderson, Nathan OConnor, Sean OConnor, Kathryn Langevin, Alexander Langevin, Jaclyn Kozan, Jessica Kozan, Justine Kozan, Ella Anderson, Cody Anderson, Kylie Anderson and Hunter Anderson; brother, Clifford Skime, Roseau, MN; sister, Alice Vagle, Big Lake, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents; step-mother, Alphia Skime; 2 brothers: Harold (Helena) and Albin; sister-in-law, Ethel Skime; and grandson, Richie Gilmer Anderson.
