Frances Donarski, 89, died Thursday, August 18, 2005 at Good Samaritan Center, Warren, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Monday, August 22, 2005 at Assumption Catholic Church, Florian, MN, with Father Gary LaMoine presiding. Burial will be at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Florian.

Visitation will be 4 - 7:30 PM, Sunday, August 21, 2005 at Assumption Catholic Church, Florian, with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to services on Monday.

Frances Victoria Skrabala was born August 17, 1916 to John and Kathryn Skrabala in Tolstoi, Manitoba Canada, very near the border north of Lancaster, MN. She was the youngest of 5 children. Her parents came to Canada from Poland, living first in Winnipeg, then moving to Tolstoi. She grew up and attended grade school and worked in the Letellier, Manitoba area, doing housemaid work.

On February 8, 1938, Frances was united in marriage to John Donarski and they farmed in Wright Township, Marshall County, MN. She was a right hand in the farming operation, which consisted of small grain and cattle. She also was very active in her church, homemakers club, and was a 4-H parent. She always had a green thumb, especially with houseplants. Her hobbies were crocheting, plants, cards and in later years quilting. She received her citizenship and naturalization papers after much study on June 10, 1947.

After Johns death in 1956, Frances went to LPN nurses training in Thief River Falls and worked several years in the Falls Clinic in Thief River Falls. She loved being an LPN and was very proud of that cap and pin.

In 1967, Frances married Walter Donarski. They farmed also and spent several winters in Florida. After retirement, they lived near Thief River Falls. Frances moved to Argyle, MN, where she lived until moving to Good Samaritan Center, Warren, MN in July of 1999.

Survived by children Veronica Knoll-Stanislowski, Crookston, MN, Dolores Kujava, Newfolden, MN, Ludwig Big Lou Donarski, Karlstad, MN, Florence Kuznia, Stephen, MN, R. R. Donarski, Stephen, MN and Jo Anne Borowicz, Bloomington, MN; daughter-in-law, Carol Donarski Michalek, Argyle, MN; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren niece Marion Povrezenich, Monessen, Pa.

Preceded in death by husbands, John and Walter, daughter, Ardy Westberg, sons, Stanley in infancy and A.J. Donarski, parents and all her siblings.
