Francia Johnson, 89, died May 27, 2004 at the CNC Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.

She was born October 15, 1914 in Grygla, Minnesota and was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (nee Olsen) Magnuson. She graduated from Goodridge High School as class valedictorian in 1932. She married Torjus Johnson on June 27, 1943 in Grygla.

She was very active with Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Grygla " Ladies Aid President, Sewing Circle, Sunday school teacher, and served as the organist and treasurer for over twenty years. She loved bird watching and growing flowers, and was a whiz at crossword puzzles and Scrabble.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Lyndon and Elmo Magnuson of Grygla, and her husband, Torjus Johnson also of Grygla.

She is survived by three children, Cedric Johnson of Pequot Lakes and his wife Brenda Johnson, Elizabeth Hacker of Thief River Falls and her husband William Hacker, and Naomi Johnson of Edinboro, Pennsylvania and her husband Earl Jacobs; five grandchildren " Janelle Johnson of Richfield, Robert Johnson of Bloomington, Melissa Johnson and her fianc Todd Nelson of Isanti, Gwendolyn Larson of San Francisco and Lorelei Larson of Alexandria, Virginia; and two great-grandchildren " Alexander Krause and Kyler Nelson who are sons of Melissa Johnson.

Friends and family are invited to a service at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Grygla on Friday, June 4, at 2pm. A reception at the church will follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. In lieu of gifts, memorials may be made to Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
