Francis Neys, 84, died on Sunday, November 09, 2003 in the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM, on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN with Father Lawrence Wagner presiding. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery of Brooks, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.

Francis John Neys was born on May 18, 1919 in Badger Township, Polk County, MN, the son of Nicholas and Mary Ellen (Nash) Neys. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN and attended Badger School in Badger Township.

Frank farmed the Home Farm in Polk County his entire life. He also worked at the American Crystal Sugar Beet Plant in Crookston, MN for ten years. Frank had some children who he adored and helped raise, including Lowell Peterson, Lois Johanek, Ronnie Peterson, and Arlene Dorr. Frank enjoyed horses and would often reminisce about farming with the horses. He became a resident at Pioneer Care Center in Erskine in May of 2003.


Francis is survived by one brother, Joseph Neys and his wife Lauria of Brooks, MN; and six nieces and nephews: Anna (Gary) Davis, Golden, CO; Mary (Harry) Larson, Hibbing, MN; Bonita (Jerry) Shaver, McIntosh, MN; Carol Neys, Crookston, MN; Geoge (Marlene) Neys, Warren, MN; and Bill DeCrans, Moorhead, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one niece Kathy DeCrans.
