FRANK XAVIER PLANTE, 97 of McIntosh, MN formerly of Brooks, MN died on Sunday, November 21, 1999 at the McIntosh Manor Nursing Home in McIntosh, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 1999 at 10:30 AM at the Petterson Funeral Home In Oklee, MN with Father Gary LaMoine Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery near Oklee.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday one hour prior to services at the funeral home only.

Frank Xavier Plante was born June 8, 1902 in Lambert Township, Red Lake County, MN son of Louis and Mary (Clermont) Plante where he was raised and attended school. On September 6, 1931 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Charboneau in Oklee, MN. The couple bought their home near Brooks in Lambert Township where they farmed all of his life. After retirement Frank enjoyed gardening. Frank entered the McIntosh Manor Nursing home in McIntosh, MN July 4, 1996
He enjoyed farming, watching TV and listening to the news and talking politics. He liked music and he loved to sing and enjoyed being with children. He had two horses he was very proud of named king and queen.
Frank is survived by his wife Myrtle of Oklee, MN; children Ernest Plante (Beverly) of Erskine, MN; Sarah Hansen (Richard) of Clearbrook, MN, Judy Olson of Red Lake Falls, MN, Linda Rodriguez (Carole) of Ft. Worth, TX, Johnny Plante (Diane) of Brooks, MN, Lois Plante of Winger, MN and Robert Plante of McIntosh, MN. 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, several cousins, nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Frank Jr. infant son John, infant daughter Verna, daughter Eunice Qualley, brothers Vedo, Thomas, William, Samuel and Albert. Sisters Albina Barness and Florence Solie. Three sons-in-law Ernest Horn, Steve Olson and Leo Qualley.
