Red Lake Falls, MN age 97, died on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Hillcrest Senior Living in Red Lake Falls, MN. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Chuck Huck Officiating and Father Antony Fernando Concelebrant. Burial will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake Falls, MN. Visitation will be held Sunday 5 - 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Frank Knott was born September 26, 1916 son of the late Leo and Margaret (Gorras) Knott at Red Lake Falls, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. He grew up and attended school in Red Lake County. Frank was inducted into the US Army January 1942 and was honorably discharged Jan. 1946 with the rank of Technician E3. On December 19, 1941 he was united in marriage to Isabelle Seeger in Red Lake Falls. The couple lived in Gervais township, in 1948 they purchased the family farm and began farming on their own, where he continued to live until 2003 when he moved into town. He worked at Thiberts Chevrolet for 2 years, worked road construction and for American Crystal Sugar. They celebrated their 50th anniversary July 13, 1991. Frank was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls and a member of the VFW and American Legion and a member of NFO. Frank enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, snowmobiling and dancing. He enjoyed the time spent visiting with family and friends along with playing cards. He is survived by his children Virginia Martinez of Thief River Falls, MN, Frank Jr. (Karen) Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN, Jerry (Roberta) Knott of Washougal, WA, Beverly (Vernon) Smith of Stephen, MN, Richard (Special Friend Cindy Bushelle) Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN Selma Almond of Merritt Island, FL and Donna (Dan) Radeke of St. Hilaire, MN: 18 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and 1 great-greatgrandson. Two sisters-in-law Lois Seeger of Grand Forks, ND and Marilyn Seeger of Red Lake Falls, MN many nieces and nephews. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, wife Isabelle on April 24, 2002, grandchildren Abbie and Mary Knott and Christine Smith, brothers and sisters John Knott, Harvey Knott, Gust Knott, Henry Knott, Matt Knott, Dora McBroom, Gertrude Schmitz, Gazella Zins, Elizabeth (Lee) Schmitz, Frances Schiefert; Sons-in-law Joe Martinez and George Almond.
