Franklin Carpenter, 53, of Thief River Falls, MN died peacefully on Friday, February 15, 2019.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from Noon until 2:00 PM on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.

Franklin Carpenter was born on November 24, 1965 in Austin, TX the son of Ronald and Peggy Ruth (Garza) Carpenter.  He grew up in Austin, TX and graduated from Travis High School with the class of 1983.

Franklin worked as an automobile mechanic, a bonded delivery driver and at Texas Instruments as a Cleanroom Technician.

He dearly loved his children and family and spending time with them was very important to him. He enjoyed barbecuing and his passion was working on cars.  Franklin made a lot of mistakes in his life but in the last ten years he had been trying so hard to make amends and finding peace with his children.

Franklin moved to Thief River Falls in 2011 to be closer to his brother, Daniel.

Survivors include his children, Franklin Tovar Carpenter Jr., Peggy Ruth Dominga Tovar Carpenter, Katrina Marie Tovar – Carpenter, Elijah Caleb Daniel Tovar Carpenter and Jennifer Ragland; 2 grandchildren; siblings, Daniel Carpenter and Kathleen Valdez; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sarah Carpenter.
