"Junebug" Frence Helmer Johnson Jr.,66 of Strandquist, MN passed away Tuesday, March 29 ^th , 2022 at his home.

The service to celebrate Junebug's life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 27, 2022 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Strandquist, MN with Pastor Amber Arlien officiating.

Jr. was born May 16 ^th , 1955 in Karlstad, MN son of the late F. Helmer and Agnes Johnson. Jr. grew up in a family of 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Throughout Jr.'s life he traveled around the country and had many adventures, he met and made friends wherever he landed. His first move was to Seattle, Washington where he worked on a crab boat. Jr. worked with his brother Leroy on his private boat. That's where he did learn to like the water and got his own boat.

From Seattle, Jr. went to California, working in the shelving business, got his own boat and did fishing off the shore of Novate, California. He was also a "Big Brother" for children who had no father. Later he went off to Arizona and Colorado working in his own drywall business. Jr. met his best friend and business partner, John LaCrosse in Colorado. Jr. and John moved back to his hometown of Strandquist doing his drywall and other jobs in 2003. He lived there the remainder of his life.

Jr. lived life and loved life to the fullest. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He could keep you interested for hours with his story's.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, laugh, and many fond memories.

Jr. is survived by sister, Linda (Fred) Schindler of Strandquist, MN, Luann (Kendall) McGlynn of Dolan Springs, AZ; brothers, Lester "Les" Johnson of Thief River Falls and Larry (Judy) Johnson of Grand Forks, ND; brother-in-law, Clifford Nelson of Newfolden, MN: and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jr. is preceded in death by his mother, Agnes; father, F. Helmer; brother, Leroy; sister, Lynette; brothers-in-law, John Bodell and Michael Johnson; nephews, Mike Nelson, Jared Olson; grandparents; aunts; and uncles.
