Gary Christofferson, age 77, passed away on February 28, 2019 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Memorial services will be held in the chapel of the Johnson-Green Funeral Service at 10:30 AM on Thursday March 21, 2019 with Larry Myhrer officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN in the spring. Military honors will be provided by the Ecklund-Holmstrom American Legion Post 117, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2793 and Minnesota Army National Guard Honor Guard.

Gary  Christofferson was born September 15, 1941 son of Alvin and Eleanor Christofferson at Thief River Falls, MN. Gary was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, and attended Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls graduating in 1959.  He briefly attended the University of North Dakota followed by attendance at vocational school in Thief River Falls where he received a degree in Architectural drafting.. He also did a stint in the Army.  Gary worked for the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation for many years until his retirement.

When vacationing, Gary attended the state fairs in each of the 48 contiguous U.S. states. He also attended the county fairs in each of the Minnesota counties.

He is survived by cousin Susan Christofferson of Hudson, Wisconsin, Susan Carlson and Richard Carlson of Washington and many second cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Eleanor Christofferson, baby sister Arlene, grandparents Carl and Anna Christofferson and Tony and Marie Carlson, aunts and uncles Jack and Barbara LaSalle, Rueben and Helene Christofferson, Pete and Eleanor Bradley, and aunts Florence Frankenburger and Mable Christofferson.
