Gary Gus Gerlach, 47, of Erskine, MN formerly of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Thursday, February 15, 2001 at his home in Erskine. Arrangements with Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2001 at 10:00 AM in St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls with Reverend Jeffrey S. Lytle Officiating. Burial will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday only.

Gary Gerlach was born March 28, 1953 in Red Lake Falls, MN son of Gustav and Luella (Jahnke) Gerlach. He lived with his family in Viking MN until moving to Red Lake Falls at an early age. Gary graduated from the Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls, MN in 1971. He worked at Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls for a short time, drove truck for Jolly Trucking in Red Lake Falls, MN, Northstar Trucking and was currently an independent truck driver leased to Slipper Trucking of Erskine.
Gus enjoyed trucking, attending the Brainerd Races, the Rollag Steam Thrashers and spending time on his computer. He enjoyed music and liked to play guitar. Most of all he loved his family and friends.
Gary is survived by his cousins Shawn (Jahnke) Cohen of Plaineville, CT; Dennis Pete Peterson of Broussard, LA; and Darryl Peterson of Lakewood, CA; Elaine Fenstad of Grand Forks, ND: and extended family of Joe and Marion Shimpa of Erskine, MN and Larry and Jerry Shimpa of Erskine, MN.
