Gary Srnsky, of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away on December 11, 2025, near Rice, Minnesota, at the age of 69, following an automobile accident.

A Visitation honoring Gary will be held from 1:30 PM until 3:30 PM on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.

Gary Ray Srnsky, born September 7, 1956, at St. Michaels Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, to Jimmy and Patricia (Walker) Srnsky. He was baptized into Lutheran faith on August 31, 1957 at Zion Lutheran Church of Thief River Falls.

Gary attended school through the 10th grade before proudly joining the United States Army on June 28, 1974. He was honorably discharged on March 10, 1975.

After his service, Gary pursued a career as a truck driver where he worked for Hartz Truck Line for many years and other trucking companies, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic and independence.

On June 14, 1975, he was united into marriage to Linda Reierson and he became a father to Scott and to their union three children were born: Jenny, James, and Patty.

He also spent many years with Kathy Sorrels. His step-grandchildren include Tristan, Presley, Peyton, Tahlen, and Coy.

Gary enjoyed old cars, rodeo’s, car shows, camping, riding 4-wheeler, hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He loved spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren. Time spent attending their activities and interests was some of Gary’s happiest moments.

He is survived by his children, Scott Srnsky, James (Jennifer) and Patty (James) Sheldon, and Elizabeth Srnsky; grandchildren, Alex Nelson, Dylan Nelson, Caleb (Nikki) Srnsky, Tanisha (Austin) Srnsky, Kathryn Srnsky, Ray Srnsky, and Quincy, Troy, and Aria Moody; great-grandchildren, Everleigh Tharaldson; his mother, Patricia Srnsky; brother, Michael Srnsky; step-grandchildren include Tristan, Presley, Peyton, Tahlen, and Coy; and many other family members who will carry his memory forward.

Gary was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jenny Srnsky; father, Jim Srnsky; grandparents, Frank and Ida Srnsky and Edward and Anna Walker; along with other loved ones who passed before him.
