Gay Anderson, 86, died on Monday, December 10, 2007 at MeritCare Northwest Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Karlstad Gospel Tabernacle in Karlstad with Pastor Mark Hanson and Pastor David Riveness officiating. Burial will follow in the Karlstad Cemetery,
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Friday.
Gay Doris Johnson, daughter of late John and Ethel (Anderson) Johnson was born October 7th, 1921 in Marshall County near Strandquist, Minnesota. She attended Woodside school in Nelson Park township near her home. She worked for several years for Greystone Hotel and drugstore in Stephen, Minnesota. Gay married Lawrence Anderson on November 6, 1942. They farmed for many years in Springbrook Township in Kittson County. They had 5 children, Jerry, Sandra, Curtis, Don and Judy.
In 1983 they moved into Karlstad. She worked for 10 years at Karlstad Nursing Center until 1985; she enjoyed that work very much. She was a second Mom to her sister, Darlene and to nieces and nephew as they stayed in their home for extended times. She shared her happy spirit with everyone. Gay was a real treasure to family and friends. Her life showed her deep faith in God. She was a longtime active member of Karlstad Gospel Tabernacle.
Left to mourn her passing are her children, Jerry (Roxan) of Big Lake, Curtis of Afton, Don (Becky) of Karlstad and Judy (Rodney) Braaten of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, Seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Todd) Laughman, Kelly (Charlie) Anderson, Tracy (Kory) Muzik, Stacy (Jeff) Gamet, Shawn (Angela) Anderson, Kimberly (Marc) Taylor and Chad (Kristen) Anderson. Great-grandchildren Keagan and Gracie Anderson; Indiana and Tristin Taylor. Sisters, Pearl Moen and Elinor Anderson of Minneapolis. several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence in 2004; daughter, Sandra in 1996; sisters Evelyn Blackberg and Darlene Johnson; brothers, Roy, Harold, Arnold and Teddy Johnson.
