Gayla Miller of Mentor, MN passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 4:00 PM at St. Peter Catholic Church in Gentilly, MN with Father Joe Richards Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery at Gentilly. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Gayla Rae Gervais was born March 23, 1964 at St. Francis Hospital in Crookston, MN daughter of Norman and Laura (Perreault) Gervais. She was raised near Red Lake Falls, MN attended school in Red Lake Falls, graduating in 1982. Gayla worked at various restaurants in the area.

She was united in marriage to Chip Almen in Elko, NV on December 31, 1988. They made their home there for 2 years, then returned to the Red Lake Falls area. To this union one son Jason was born. She worked at Memories Café and later at the Municipal liquor store in Mentor for many years.

On August 6, 2011 she was united in marriage to Daniel Miller at Gentilly, MN. They made their home on Maple Lake at Mentor, MN. She was Dan's bookkeeper from that time until the time of her passing.

She enjoyed Motorcycle, fishing (summer and winter), spending time with family and friends but most of all she loved the time spent with her grandson.  She was particular about her yard, spending time with her flowers and garden. She also enjoyed boating and jet skiing on the lake. She liked to spend time in deer camp with the boys, bringing food and getting in on the stories. Gayla took lots of pictures and was very good at it.

Gayla is survived by her husband Dan of Maple Lake, grandson Blake Schultz of Thompson, ND; siblings Joyce (special friend Alan) Goats of Boaz, AL, Russell (Carolina) Gervais of Red Lake Falls, MN, Ken (special friend Deb) Gervais of Thief River Falls, MN, Myrna (Jerry) Flint of East Grand Forks, MN, Les (Karen) Gervais of Red Lake Falls, MN; along with many nieces and nephews; step children Kathryn (Evan) Miller Litchy, Stacy (Brandon) Miller Lamont and Kenneth (Sarah Sebenaler) Miller; step grandchildren Kaina and Kason, Cloe and Jordon, Carter and McKinna.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Jason in July 15, 2006, sister MaryLou Goats.
