George Raymond Duquette was born on November 21, 1931 in Drayton, ND, the son of Ernest and Dellina (Chounard) Duquette.   He was baptized and confirmed at St. Edward's Church in Drayton, and attended Drayton school.
George was stationed with the US Marines in North Carolina where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. He was honorably discharged March 17, 1954. George was proud of his service to his country and told many stories of his days in the service.
He worked as a bellhop at the Ryan Hotel in Grand Forks, ND, the Dixie Cream Doughnut Shop in Grand Forks, and also farmed with his parents by St. Hilaire. The family later moved to Plummer, where he continued to farm, in addition to working many years at American Crystal in Crookston before his retirement.
He married Geraldine (Tveit) Sabol on June 16, 1979 and they were married for 29 years before she passed away on February 24, 2009.
George loved to cook and enjoyed hosting family for the holidays. One of his favorite pastimes was gardening, where he always looked forward to canning the produce he harvested. He enjoyed going to farm auctions and flea markets. George also liked to follow the Minnesota Twins on TV, and if they weren't playing, he enjoyed watching old classic movies.
He was a member of St. Bernard's Parish and the American Legion.
