Georgia Landin, 98, died on Thursday, May 24, 2008 at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 A. M. on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church in Warroad, MN with Reverend Karen Holmberg-Smith officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Warroad, MN.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 25, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Nancy Hanson officiating with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer service on Friday evening and also at the church for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Georgia Coral Marshall was born on October 23, 1908 in Princeton, MN, the daughter of Henry and Katie (Larson) Marshall. The family moved to Clearriver in 1912, where they homesteaded. In 1918 they moved to Warroad, MN. Georgia was confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company until her marriage to Elof Landin on May 11, 1930. They farmed near Swift, raising seed potatoes and planting trees.
Georgia enjoyed quilting, gardening, picking berries, hunting, playing cards and taking trips. She worked with the Zion Quilters making thousands of quilts for Lutheran Social Service. Georgia lived on the farm until 1998, when she moved east of Holt to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Since 2000 she has lived at First Care Center in Thief River Falls.
Georgia is survived by her daughter, Marjorie (Clifford) Steinhauer of rural Thief River Falls, MN; two grandsons, Neil (Cindy) Steinhauer of Swift, MN and Owen (Kim) Steinhauer of Thief River Falls, MN; ten great grandchildren, Chris (Carol), Heather, Michael (Sarah), Rebecca (John) Anderson, Melissa (Chris) Lane, Adam (Jessie), Charles, Johathan, Joseph and Kristine and six great great grandchildren, Nicky, Noah, Zachary, Levi, Alexis and Kira; one sister, Luella Brandli of Arizona; and one brother, Leon Marshall of Warroad, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elof in 1984; one grandson, Joe; one great granddaughter, Elizabeth; her parents, Katie and Henry Marshall; sisters, Dorothy Kofstad, Mildred Fritzinger, Evelyn Mears and Doris Marshall; and one brother, Tom.
