Georgia Presnell, 35, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Georgia Alice Presnell was born with third stage spinal bifida on July 22, 1971, in Darnell Army Hospital, Ft. Hood, TX the daughter of Franklin D. and Donna (Hagl) Presnell. She was baptized into the catholic faith in Texas and confirmed at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND. Georgia attended Grand Forks public schools and graduated from Red River High School in 1991.

After graduation, Georgia lived independently at Sunshine Terrace and later Town Square in East Grand Forks, MN and following the flood of 1997 she moved to Sunset Court in Red Lake Falls, MN where she resided until the time of her death.

Georgia had a great love for her family and loved spending time with them. She was active in wheel chair races in Special Olympics; Georgia also enjoyed arts, crafts, and crocheting. She enjoyed spending time on the computer, where she made her own greeting cards. Georgia was a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan, loved to eat at Memories Caf, loved to pray the rosary, play cards and bingo, and shop in any store that was handicapped accessible.

Georgia was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN, the Listen Center in Grand Forks, ND, Options in East Grand Forks, MN, and the ODC in Thief River Falls and Crookston. She volunteered as a teachers aide at Hughes Elementary in Red Lake Falls and was active in the community at Sunset Court.

Georgia is survived by parents, Franklin D. and Donna Presnell of Red Lake Falls, MN; brothers, David (Dawn) Presnell of Baltimore, MD and Thomas (Shannon) Presnell of Grand Forks, ND; sister, Sheila (Dan) Rhoads of Grand Forks, ND; nephews and niece, David Presnell, Nathan Presnell, Matthew Presnell, Kaleb Makey, Jacob Presnell, Morgan Presnell and Dylan Rhoads; great nephews, Nicholas and Andrew Presnell; aunts, Ethel Lewis of Monroe, MI, and Beverly Wander of Detroit Lakes, MN; uncle, Larry Hagl of Red Lake Falls, MN and many other relatives and friends.

Georgia is preceded in death by grandparents, George and Amelia Hagl, and Patten and Alice Presnell; nephews, Daniel Rhoads, Jr. and Sean Michael Rhoads and an infant Rhoads; and aunts and uncles, Hubert Presnell, Bennett Presnell and Verlie Warntz.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at St. Joseph Church, Red Lake Falls, MN, with Father Tim Bushy presiding. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service Monday, January 29, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Red Lake Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral mass.
