Geraldine Nora Tveit was born February 24, 1933 in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Gunder and Jeanette Nellie Bye Tveit. She grew up in Goodridge, MN, graduating from Goodridge High School, June 8, 1950.

Gerry was united in marriage to Joseph Sabol in Warren, MN on March 18, 1952. To this union 5 children were born: Shirley, Susan, Edward, Patrick and Diane. The couple lived briefly after their marriage in East Helena, MT, before moving back to Warren, MN in December 1952. They were employed with Jacobi Farms at March Siding until May 1969. As this was a large farming operation, Gerry played a big part by growing a large vegetable garden, raising chickens and cooking many meals , especially during harvest season. They moved to Thief River Falls, where she was employed with Dwights Hartz Supermarket for 24 years.

She married George Duquette in Thief River Falls, June 16, 1979. Gerry began working for Digi-Key in November 1992, where she was still employed at the time of her death. She was very proud of the fact that she was able to work full time at the age of 75 and one of her biggest disappointments was not being able to rejoin her co-workers at Digi-Key.

She was known as the Avon Lady to many, having sold Avon from 1974 to the present earning many President Club Awards for outstanding sales. Put on a little lipstick and youll be fine was her motto.

Gerry always kept very active and enjoyed quilting, canning, entertaining family and friends with her wonderful baking and cooking. You never went away from Moms house hungry or without a plate of leftovers. She and George enjoyed their many flea market and casino get aways. Gerry was an active member of St. Bernards Parish.

Gerry is survived by husband George, Thief River Falls; children: Shirley (Michael) Lundgren, Susan (Michael) Drury and Edward (Kathy Haugen) Sabol all of Thief River Falls, MN, Patrick (Michelle) Sabol, Grand Forks, ND and Diane (Jeffery) Marquardt, Harshaw, WI; a brother: Galen (Sharon) Tveit, Palisade, MN; a sister: Janet (Elmer) Sabol, Warren, MN; 9 grandchildren, Charles (Tami) Lundgren, Thief River Falls, Jeffrey (Lorrie Daugherty) Lundgren, Chicago, IL, Jennifer (Eric) Bjorgaard, Hopkins, MN, Joseph (Sarah) Sabol, Thief River Falls, Lindsay (David Wilcox) Drury, Thief River Falls, Jamie (Bryan) Cleven, Thief River Falls, Nicole Sabol, Grand Forks, ND, Lucas Sabol, Grand Forks, ND, Logan Marquardt, Harshaw, WI; 9 great-grandchildren, Alex and Parker Lundgren, Chase Bjorgaard, Cayley and Blaine Sabol, Mercede, Hannah, and Conner Cleven and Bridger Wilcox; several brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by first husband, Joseph Sabol on November 16, 1973; great-grandson, Cody Lundgren; parents, Gunder and Nellie Tveit, brother, Mark Tveit; and sister, Margaret Burrell.

Geraldine Duquette died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at her home in Thief River Falls, MN, after losing a courageous battle with leukemia at the age of 76 years. May her memory be blessed.
