Geraldine Erickson, 75, died on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Brethren Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor George Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Friday, July 8, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday.

Geraldine Joy Olson was born on January 8, 1936 to Herbert Sigrid and Ida Mae (Hanson) Olson at Lake Bronson, MN. She was baptized at Lake Bronson and confirmed in the Lutheran Church there. She attended Lake Bronson Schools and graduated from Lake Bronson in 1953.

As a young girl she moved to Fargo, ND and then to California for about a year. She was united in marriage to Ronald Norman Foster. They made their home in Karlstad, MN and Georgia. To this union two children were born, Wade and Kim. Ronald died in June of 1968. After his death, Geraldine and her children made their home in Thief River Falls, MN.

She later met Dennis Willard Erickson and they were married on December 10, 1972 in Goodridge, MN. They made their home in Thief River Falls. To this union two children were born, Marla and Ranada. Geraldine was a stay at home mom raising a family. She also helped her husband Dennis with the paperwork from his well drilling business.

She loved to play Bingo, crochet, sing, and crossword puzzles. She was always cooking and baking. She had a love for her family and family came first. The grandchildren were lucky to have grandma at their beckon call. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary.

Geraldine is survived by her husband Dennis Erickson of Thief River Falls, MN, three children: Kim (Mark Haugen) Foster, of Thief River Falls, MN, Marla (Jason) King of Thief River Falls, MN, Ranada Erickson of Denver, CO, 3 grandchildren, Samantha Foster, Andrew Anderson, Ryan King, 1 great grandchild Teagan Foster, one brother Lloyd Olson, Fallon, NV, and several nieces and nephews.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her first husband Ronald Foster, son Wade Foster, parents, three brothers, Ivan Olson, Harvey Olson, and LaVerne Olson.
