Gertrude Rhode, 75, of Erskine, formerly of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Wednesday, July 15, 1998 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 1998 at 2:00 PM in Petterson Funeral Home In Red Lake Falls with Reverend Gary Graff Officiating. Burial will be held in the Rose Hill Cemetery near Mentor, MN.

Visitation will be held on Saturday one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home.

Gertrude Lucille Rhode was born December 5, 1922 at Richmond, CA daughter of Earl and Alice (Griswold) Wiles where she was raised and attended school. She was united in marriage to Francis Rhode in 1941 at Richmond, CA. Following his discharge from the Military the couple returned to the Red Lake Falls area. She worked as a nurse in Crookston and in Red Lake Falls until the Hospital closed in Red Lake Falls. Francis died on February 24, 1985. She moved to Bassett, Nebraska and resided there until returning to Red Lake Falls in November of 1997 and the past few months lived in Erskine, MN.

She lived to Knit, work puzzle Books and enjoyed her cats.

She is survived by her three children Fred Rhode of San Mateo, California; Ted Rhode (Joyce) of Erskine, MN and Bonnie Rhode of Questa, NM: 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren: one sister in law Florence Rhode of Modesto, CA and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Francis, parents, one sister Wilda.
