Obituary

Gladyce "Glady" LaCrosse passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN, at the age of 77.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Bill DeCrans Officiating. Burial will be held later in the spring at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, February 1, 2016 from 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls.

Gladyce Mae Meyer was born November 4, 1938, in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Clarence and Bertha (Weise) Meyer.  She was baptized as an adult in Minneapolis, MN.  She attended Lafayette High School in 1956 and in 1958, she earned a LPN degree from Northland College, Thief River Falls and then in 1982, Glady became a RN while attending Northland.

On May 16, 1959, Gladyce was united in marriage to John "Jack" LaCrosse at St. Joseph's Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. The couple made their home near Red Lake Falls where they farmed and raised their family. Glady was very active being involved in all aspects of the Catholic Church. Following her retirement she was also very active in the foster grandparent program in the local elementary schools.

Glady worked as a CNA in high school at St. John's Hospital, Red Lake Falls, worked as a nurse in the Clinic at Red Lake Falls and as a nurse at Riverview, Crookston, MN.  She went on to become the OB supervisor at Riverview.

She is survived by husband John "Jack" LaCrosse, Red Lake Falls, MN; children: John (Dianne) Thomas, Cindy (Perry) Barnes, Keith (Jenipher) LaCrosse, Mark (Melanie) LaCrosse and  Anthony (Sue) LaCrosse; grandchildren: Matthew and Brandan Thomas, David (Andrea) Forsberg, Bethany (Chad) Griffith, Adam, Megan and Ashley LaCrosse, Zackary, Abigail and Andrew LaCrosse, Heather Uriell Cory Uriell; great grandchildren: Henry Forsberg, Bella Griffith, Mallory Uriell; brothers: Harold (LaVoane) Meyer and Kenneth Meyer.

Preceded in death by her parents, infant twins born in 1964, brother John and sister Dorothy Ford.
