Gladys Borgen, 96, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 2 PM, Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN with Rich Raschke officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be noon " 2 PM before the service at Johnson Funeral Service, Sunday.

Gladys Marie Syversrud was born February 1, 1911 in Pennington County, MN, the daughter of Knute and Andrea Elizabeth (Evenvik) Syversrud. She attended school in the Highlanding area.

As a young lady, Gladys took care of her mother and also did domestic work in the McIntosh area. In 1940, she moved to Thief River Falls, MN and became employed in the Hartz Bakery. She worked for Hartz Wholsale for 10 years, retiring at the age of 70.

On June 2, 1949, Gladys was united in marriage to Harold Borgen in Thief River Falls. The couple made their home at 124 State St N in Thief River Falls, where she was a home maker. She lived there until moving into Greenleaf Assisted Living, Thief River Falls in 2005.

Gladys enjoyed crocheting and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly (Joseph) Anderson, Buffalo, MN and a grandson, Karl Anderson.

Gladys is preceded in death by husband, Harold in 1957; parents; brothers and sisters; Synneva Swenson, Ned Syversrud, Edwin Syversrud, Christine Vidden, Martha Tollefson, Ned Syversrud, Carl Syversrud, Gena Van Keuren, Adolph Syversrud and Ruth Mosbeck.
