Obituary

Gladys Emily Jorgenson, 90 died on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at New Life Family Worship Center in Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor Mark Hanson and Pastor Virgil Rasmussen officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service with a 7:00 PM prayer service. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Gladys Emily Jorgenson was born on October 4, 1916 at rural Grygla, MN the daughter of Peter and Julia (Landro) Johnson. She attended school at Big Grove School near Grygla.

On October 28, 1935 Gladys was united in marriage to Norman Clarence Jorgenson at Goodridge, MN and the couple made their home at Chapman Corner. They moved to farm north of Goodridge, MN in 1943 and in 1966 moved to Thief River Falls. Norman passed away on January 1, 1991 and Gladys has spent the last 3 years at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN.

Gladys enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, reading, playing the mandolin, and cooked for everyone that would stay. She was active with Womans Missionary Circle at the Assembly of God Church and taught Sunday school and was involved with many church activities.

Survivors include three children, Wendell (Joyce) Jorgenson of Newfolden, MN, Harriett (Richard) Johnson of Thief River Falls, MN and Royal (Neva) Jorgenson of Phoenix, AZ; foster sons, Larry Hendrickson and Donovan Hendrickson both of Karlstad, MN; grandchildren, Lana, Nathan, Danita, Trentyn, Dawniss, Ryanell, Karlace, Anndrea, Cameron, and Nickolas; 26 great grandchildren; brother, Russel (Lois) Johnson of Everett, WA; Doris Thompson of Minneapolis, MN and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Arlowyn Delane; son Jerroll LeRoy; dughter-in-law, LaDonna; grandson, Bryan; and brothers and sisters, Nelius, Arthur, Percy, Irene, Clifford, Russel in infancy, Gladys in infancy and Arda in infancy.
