Gladys Loeffler, 80, died Friday, February 29, 2008 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine, MN.

Memorial Mass will be 1:30 PM, Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at St. Bernards Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Monsignor Timothy McGee presiding.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church, Wednesday.

Gladys Fern Bakke was born October 28, 1927 in Marsh Grove Township, rural Newfolden, MN, the daughter of John and Randine (Haugen) Bakke. She was baptized in the Christian faith at Westaker Lutheran Church and confirmed there as well. Gladys attended Popple Lane Country School, rural Newfolden.

She was married and divorced. Gladys was a life long cook and caterer for Thief River Golf Club, Elks, American Legion, Rex Caf, Lons and Best Western all in Thief River Falls. She was a member of St. Bernards and held membership in the Thief River Falls VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Gladys loved cooking and eating good food.

Gladys is survived by 5 children: Wayne Loeffler, Warroad, MN, Robert (Judy) Loeffler, Meri Loeffler and Tim (Kristine) Loeffler all of Thief River Falls, MN and Tony Loeffler, Duluth, MN; 13 grandchildren: Wayne, Heather, Nicole, Breanna, Brody, Robert, Jeri Lynn, Natalie, Bobbie Jo, Shane, Tim, Cory and Kjelsy; 6 great grandchildren and a brother, Roy Bakke.

She is preceded in death by parents, brothers, Harlan, Magnus and Raymond Bakke and sisters, Jenni Miller and Mertyle Hall.
