A Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Red Lake Falls with Pastor Gary Graff Officiating. Burial will be held at Bethlehem Cemetery, rural Gonvick, MN.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Gladys Odegard, 83, died on Monday, November 8, 2010 at Hillcrest Senior Living in Red Lake Falls, MN.
Gladys C. Odegard, 83, was born June 30, 1927 to parents, Carl O. Olson and Alma (Olson) Olson in Queen Township, Polk County.
Gladys attended Sunnyside Country School through eighth grade. She graduated from Fosston High School in 1944 and attended Bemidji Business School. She was employed in Washington, D.C., Giese Hardware in East Grand Forks, MN and at the Gonvick Bank.
On August 21, 1948, Gladys was united in marriage to Clifford Odegard. In 1951 they moved to Rochester, NY where they were employed by Bausch & Lomb Optical Company.
Clifford passed away on March 22, 1982. Gladys retired in June of 1987. After retirement she loved to travel and visited Thailand, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, China, England, Ireland, France and Greece. Gladys also enjoyed golfing, playing cards and visiting relatives and friends. In November of 1997, Gladys moved to Red Lake Falls. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Red Lake Falls. On October 29, 2007, she became a resident of Hillcrest Senior Living and resided there until her death.
Gladys is survived by her sister, Marion Keifenheim of Red Lake Falls, MN; brothers, Howard Olson and his wife Marita of Rochester, MN and Lloyd Olson of Fosston, MN; sisters-in-law, Patricia Olson of Rochester, MN, Betty Olson of Valier, MT, and Rose Odegard of Gonvick, MN, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; her parents; brothers, Clifford, Richard and her brother-in-law, Lester Keifenheim.
