Glen Ekman, Newfolden, MN, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Karlstad Healthcare Center, Karlstad, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.  Pastor Ollie Urdahl will officiate.

Glen Allen Ekman was born on April 8, 1949 in Thief River Falls, MN to Virgil and Elaine (Larson) Ekman.  He went to Newfolden School and graduated in 1967.

Glen attended vocational school in Thief River Falls and graduated as an auto body mechanic.  Glen then worked for Bjorgaard's, Geno's Body Shop and he finished his career working at Westside Motors.

Glen resided in Newfolden, MN for the majority of his life.

Glen was married to Yvonne Knutson and to this union two daughters were born, Tammy and Shery.

Glen later married Tammy Hagen and to this union one son Jeremy was born.

Throughout his life he enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He had a passion for stock car racing, mud runs, and working on cars.  He spent time with friends playing softball, bowling and horse shoes.

Survivors include his daughters Tammy Davidson and Shery (Rick) Brekkestran; son Jeremy Ekman; grandchildren Ashli, Corli, Riley and Brinli Davidson, Austin, Cadin and Tayli Brekkestran; mother Elaine Ekman; brothers Larry (Barb) Ekman, Mark (Helen) Ekman and Daryl (Jackie) Ekman; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Virgil; uncle Wallace; grandparents Anna and Martin Ekman.
