Glen Osbjornson, 67, died on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at MeritCare Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM, Thursday, July at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN will be with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be Wednesday 5-8 PM, at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the Mass on Thursday at the church.

Glen Allen Osbjornson was born on July 18, 1941 to Asbjorn Asbjornson and Gena Nerhus at Thief River Falls, MN. He grew up in Mayfield Township, Pennington County. He attended country school and then attended Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN.

He was united in marriage to Sandra Margaret Schiefert on October 26, 1963 at St. Vincent de Paul, Plummer, MN. They lived in Thief River Falls for a few short months and then lived in Grand Forks, ND from 1964 to 1971. Glen worked at Coca Cola Beverage Company as a delivery driver for about four years. He then worked as janitor and school bus driver for the Holy Family School for a few years. In 1971, they moved to rural Pennington County. He worked at Forsbergs until about 1977. In 1973, Glen purchased the family farm Mayfield Township, Pennington County where they raised their family. He farmed for many years. Later in years he has driven semi for Cenex Harvest State. Glens arthritis forced him to retire in 2003.

Glens passion was farming and family. He also enjoyed riding his trike and motorcycles when his health allowed him to. He loved to drive and see the countryside. He could buy something in a basket and fix it up and make it run. In the 1960s he built his own snow plane. He was very mechanical and took a class in welding. When he welded something it stayed. In Glens younger years he enjoyed dancing. He was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church and also served on the Mayfield Township Board for many years.

Glen is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra, Thief River Falls, MN, one son Daniel (LaNette) Osbjornson, Glyndon, MN, two daughters, Nancy (Darrell) Sweep, Casselton, ND, Darby (Gene) Trontvedt, Oklee, MN, 9 grandchildren: Zachary, Ashley, Jacob Osbjornson, Chelsey Braun, Mitchell, Mercedes and Madison Sweep, Cody and Kaytlin Trontvedt, 1 great grandchild Gavin Hegg, 2 sisters Jane Miller, Thief River Falls, MN, Verna Oley, Verdi, NV.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Earl Haugen.
